Kovo Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 October 2026
Kovo ("the app") is a media player for IPTV services. It is published by the Kovo developer ("we"). This policy explains what happens to your data when you use Kovo.
Kovo provides no content
Kovo does not include, sell or host any TV channels, movies, series or playlists. You add your own playlists (M3U links or Xtream Codes accounts) from a provider you have chosen yourself. You are responsible for having the right to watch that content.
Data we collect
We do not sell any personal data. Kovo shows no ads and has no analytics SDK. Without an account, we store nothing about you on our servers. Purchases are handled by Google Play (see below). If you choose to create a Kovo account, we store the small amount of data described under "Kovo account".
Purchases (Google Play)
Kovo is free to try for 14 days. After that, it needs Kovo Premium: a monthly subscription or a one-time purchase. Payment is processed entirely by Google Play; we never see your payment details. The app only asks Google Play whether your Google account owns the purchase. See Google's privacy policy.
Kovo account (optional)
You can use Kovo on Android without an account. An account lets you keep your purchase on other devices, including the Kovo computer app. If you sign in, we store:
- your e-mail address, used only to send sign-in codes;
- an account ID and the time of your sign-ins;
- the devices signed in to your account (up to 5): a random ID made at each sign-in, a device name such as "Kovo Pixel 8", whether it is a phone, TV or computer, and when it last checked in. We use this to limit an account to 5 devices and to issue each device its license;
- which Kovo purchase your account owns: the product, its Google Play purchase token, its status and, for a subscription, its end date. We check the purchase with Google Play before storing it.
On your account page you can see your purchase status and devices and remove a device. The page keeps you signed in by saving your sign-in in your browser's local storage until you sign out; it uses no cookies and no analytics.
This data is stored with our hosting provider Supabase in the European Union (Frankfurt). Sign-in codes are sent by e-mail through our e-mail provider. We do not use your e-mail address for marketing. Your playlists, favorites and history are never sent to the account.
Deleting your account: in the app, open Settings › Kovo account › Delete account, or use your account page on this website. You can also e-mail us from your account's address; see how to delete your account. Deletion removes your e-mail address, account ID, device list and purchase records right away. Your Google Play purchases stay with your Google account.
Data stored on your device
The following stays on your device only, in the app's private storage:
- the playlist addresses, usernames and passwords you enter;
- favorites, custom categories, watch history and resume positions;
- recordings you make;
- settings such as language, theme, profiles and parental PIN.
Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes all of it. Backups you export are files that you control.
Connections the app makes
- Your IPTV provider: Kovo connects to the addresses you enter to load playlists, the TV guide (EPG) and video streams. Your provider's own privacy policy applies to those connections.
- TMDB (optional): if you enter your own TMDB API key, Kovo sends movie and series titles to The Movie Database to fetch posters and descriptions. See https://www.themoviedb.org/privacy-policy
- Phone entry (QR code): when you add a playlist from your phone, Kovo opens a temporary web form that is reachable only on your local network. The data goes directly from your phone to your TV device and is not sent to us.
- Robot check (Cloudflare Turnstile): before a sign-in code is e-mailed, on this website and in the app, Cloudflare Turnstile checks in the background that the request comes from a person. Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser details for this check only. See the Turnstile Privacy Addendum and Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Children
Kovo is not directed at children under 13. A parental PIN is available to lock categories.
Changes
If this policy changes, for example to add sync, it will be updated here before that version of the app is released.
